Major Battles
  • Battle of Bunker Hill- On June 17, 1775 Minutemen
    fought this battle near Boston. Most of the
    fighting took place on Breeds Hill. The
    Minutemen won.
  • Battles of Long Island and Trenton- These battles
    took place in 1776. The Bristish General was
    General Howe. The Continental General was George
    Washington.
  • Battle of Saratoga- In October of 1777, this
    battle took place. The British General was
    General Jogn Burgoyne. Colonial General was
    Horatio and his men won.

  • Rifles were accurate from long range but they
    took longer to load.
  • Tomahawks were used as camp tools. They also used
    them in war.

Revolutionary War Paul Revere was famous and
still is for shouting, The Regulators are
coming! Samuel Adams was an important part of
the Boston Tea Party. He organized the tea
merchants. John Hancock was elected president of
the Second Continental Congress. George
Washington attended the first Continental
Congress. These are people who fought in the
Revolutionary War.

Uniforms
  • Patriots
  • Patriots did not have many uniforms. They wore
    blue and white. They were usually looking for
    shirts. Soldiers often had no shoes.
  • Loyalists
  • Loyalists wore red uniforms and black boots. They
    usually had what they needed because the king
    gave them what they needed.
