How about CREATIVITY?
3
What is your definition?
  • Write it as a metaphor.
  • Example Creativity is like
  • a breath of fresh air
  • the sounds of a lock opening
  • a series of green lights and a car with no
    breaks
  • water flowing downhill
  • Turn to your neighbor and share your metaphor.

4
The Term Creativity
The root of the words create and creativity
comes from Latin creatus and creare, meaning to
make or produce, or literally, to grow. The
word also comes from the Old French base kerre,
and the Latin crescere and creber. The Roman
goddess of the earth, Ceres, is an example, as is
the Italian corn goddess, Cereris. Creativity as
a word has its roots in the earth. Other words
with these same roots are cereal, crescent,
creature, concrete, crescendo, decrease,
increase, and recruit. Creativity is a new word
that appears in the Oxford English Dictionary in
1971.

3 Forces are pushing us to favor R-directed
thinking
10
  • Abundance has satisfied (even over satisfied) the
    material needs of millions-increasing
significance of beauty and emotion and
    individuals need to find meaning

11
  • Asia is performing many L-directed white collar
work at much lower cost forcing knowledge workers
in advanced countries to master abilities that
    cant be shipped overseas.

12
  • Automation is affecting white collar workers in
the same way it did for blue collar workers in
    the last generation. L-directed professionals
must seek aptitudes that computers are unable to
    do better, faster or cheaper.

the subtleties of human interaction, to find joy
in ones self and to elicit it in others, and to
