Educational and Career Action Plan (ECAP)
  • On February 25, 2008 the Arizona State Board of
    Education approved Education and Career Action
    Plans for all Arizona students grades 9-12
    (R7-2-302.05).
  • The ECAP helps students personalize their
    education and enables them to maximize the
    opportunities available upon high school
    graduation

  • Career aspirations
  • Extended learning opportunities

  • The primary means by which our students develop
    an ECAP is through our Career Planning System
    (powered by Kuder)

Education and Career Action Plans (ECAPs)
  • MPS students develop ECAPs prior to graduation 
  • The initial plan is developed in junior high and
    it is updated throughout high school

Long-term goals
  • To collect, revise, or develop lessons that teach
    the career/academic competencies for students
  • To collect, revise, or develop lessons that move
    the ECAP attributes forward
  • To collect, revise, or develop lessons that
    address English Language Learners (ELLs) and
    students with Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • To develop systems of accountability to measure
    whether or not students are meeting competencies
    and whether or not they have completed an ECAPs
    prior to graduation
