Ocean Biology Processing Group (OBPG)
  • Originated as SeaWiFS Project
  • CZCS processing
  • February 2004 assumed responsibility for Aqua
    MODIS ocean color products
  • March 2006 assumed responsibility for Aqua MODIS
    SST products.

  • Fully automated, distributed data system for
  • acquiring, processing, analyzing, archiving,
  • and distributing scientific data
  • Current system supporting SeaWiFS, MODIS,
  • OCTS, and CZCS.
  • (Future missions NPP and Aquarius)
  • Approximately 40 distributed multiprocessor
  • Linux PCs with 100 terabytes of online storage
