Pre-alerting patients with suspected STROKE
  • FAST TEST
  • Facial weakness
  • Can the person smile?
  • Has their mouth or eye drooped?
  • Arm weakness
  • Can the person raise both arms?
  • Speech problems
  • Can the person speak clearly and understand what
    you say?
  • Time to call 999
  • Pre-alert Emergency Department saying
  • FAST POSITIVE STROKE PATIENT
  • The following must be present
  • Positive FAST test.
  • Onset within last two hours.
  • Age 18-80 years.
  • Conscious or easily rousable.
  • No seizures/fits.
  • Blood sugar more than 3 mmol/l.
  • Not on warfarin.
  • BRING A WITNESS IF POSSIBLE
