  • Belief that an object, action, or circumstance
    not directly related to a course of events
    influences its outcome.

Hypotheses
  • Females will be more likely to show stronger
    belief in superstitions than males.
  • Older people will be more likely to show weaker
    belief in superstitions than younger people.
  • People with higher class standing will be more
    likely to show weaker belief in superstitions
    than those having a lower class standing.
  • Hard Science Majors (Biology, Chemistry, Computer
    Science, Math, and Physics) will be more likely
    to show weaker belief in superstitions than other
    majors.
  • People with a higher grade point average will be
    more likely to show weaker belief in
    superstitions than those with a lower grade point
    average.
  • People whose parents have completed a higher
    level of education will be more likely to show
    weaker belief in superstitions than those whose
    parents have received less education.
  • High confident people level will be more likely
    to show weaker belief in superstitions than low
    confident ones.
