2009.Where are we?
  • Holy Spirit is a growing and dynamic parish.
  • One of the larger and more active parishes in the
    Archdiocese of Sydney.
  • Parish and School numbers continue to grow as
more families move into the area.
  • CSMA has long term commitment to the Archdiocese
to provide for the pastoral needs of the parish
    community.
  • So..we need to plan for future needs
  • Pastoral
  • Financial
  • Physical

3
Why do this?.....
  • Pope John Paul II issued an Apostolic Letter,
Novo millennio ineunte, calling for a pastoral
plan for the Church as it enters a new era.
  • The Pope urged all Catholics to "start afresh
    with Christ".
  • He called for "new pastoral initiatives", which
are to be "adapted to the circumstances of each
    community"
  • This vision is to form part of the parishs
pastoral plan in response to this call by Popes
    JPII and Benedict XVI.

4
What is needed.
  • A long term plan to provide for the financial
needs of the parish community for the next fifty
    years.
  • What are these needs?
  • Growing operational costs of the parish
  • Growing maintenance costs for parish/school
    property and aging buildings.
  • Resources to provide for large capital
expenditure in future years to meet the future
pastoral/educational needs of parish and parish
    school.
  • Resources to provide for outreach as part of the
    parishs social justice/mission objectives.
