Months
  • When writing the month of a publication in MLA,
    all months are abbreviated (i.e., Mar. for March)
    except May, June, and July. The format for the
    date in MLA is day, month, and year.

Titles
  • In MLA, for newspaper titles, if the city of
    publication is not in the title, put the city
    name in brackets after the title, not underlined.

Non-Continuous Pagination
  • If an article in a magazine or newspaper does not
    appear on continuous pages (for example, if the
    essay is interrupted by an ad, or if it is
    continued elsewhere in the source), in MLA, you
    may place a after the first consecutive
    page(s), indicating that the article continues
    elsewhere.
