  • Installation at point 2 is progressing, including
    the infrastructure for the DCS
  • Racks (with cooling, electricity etc.)
  • Gas and cooling systems

  • Computing infrastructure

Racks
  • All requested racks are installed in CRs and UX
  • Mechanics for cooling is installed
  • Rails for turbines at top of rack
  • Side panels
  • Deflector at bottom of rack
  • Note that position of turbine is function of your
    rack layout
  • Optical patch panels are placed above turbine
  • Assume other equipment will not block the airflow
  • Based on your information as collected by
    Jean-Pierre Vanuxem
  • For a change of position of turbine or deflector
    the rack needs to be empty now is your last
    chance to modify

  • Turbines not yet delivered
  • First deliveries foreseen this week
  • More batches over the next month
  • Turbine installation starts in CR, then UX
  • With turbines, the rack monitoring will be
    installed and commissioned

    distribution boxes
  • Normabarre for L3 racks in CR
  • New distribution box for all newly installed
    racks in CR and UX
  • Power strips to connect yourequipment have
    arrived lastweek
  • Will be cabled and installedstarting this week
  • Actual powering of racksdepends on safety
    inspection

Gas and cooling
  • First gas and cooling systems are being installed
  • TPC gas system commissioned
  • Collaboration between GWG and TPC experts
  • Using local (expert) control system (PVSS based)
  • Definition of software interface with gas systems
    has started (through DIP)
  • Implementation of prototype will start next week,
    using TPC system

Gas and cooling
  • The gas system interface will
  • Make key parameters (flow, pressure etc.)
    available in the DCS system
  • Provide an FSM state reflecting the state of the
    gas system
  • To allow actions based on state change of gas
    system
  • Provide synoptic panels for non-expert operators
  • Development of software interface to cooling
    plant has started
  • As FW component (Arturo, Giacinto and IT/CO)
  • First prototypes tested with SPD and HMPID
    cooling plant

  • Network was defined based on your requirements
  • Installation by IT/CS
  • Installation in CRs finished
  • In UX installation isprogressing well,ready
    next month
  • Start using DCS network next week (in CR3)

Computing infrastructure
  • First batch of computers has arrived and first
    stage is installed in CR3
  • 1 node per detector
  • Some for central DCS
  • Had to wait for cooling, power and network to
    start
  • Put in operation from next week onward
  • Extra rack for DB server
