Accountability From the Community to the
University and Back Again!

• Project Objectives
• To develop an inventory of how we are promoting
  the teaching and learning of social
  accountability in undergraduate postgraduate
  medical education at McGill
• To analyze best practices
• To design a faculty development initiative, based
  on lessons learned, that would encourage
  community-based experiences for students and
  residents.

Description of Project Progress to Date

• A survey to Postgraduate and Undergraduate
  program directors has been distributed and
  responses are currently being analyzed.
• A student focus group has been held the focus
  group with teachers in the Social Pediatrics
  Rotation will be held this spring.
• A template for site-specific faculty development
  initiatives will be designed once data collection
  has been completed.

Link Between the Project and Social
Accountability
It is our belief that the best way to promote CPD
on social accountability is to build on current
strengths and promote learning by doing. This
faculty development initiative is designed to
meet both of these objectives.
