  • The N277 Nieuwelaan in the town of Meise is a
    secondary road consisting of two lanes and
    emergency lanes on both sides.
  • The two traffic lanes and one of the shoulders
    were built in 1952.
  • Other parts of the hard shoulder date from 1966
    and 1972.
  • It is a typical plain concrete pavement for the
    period 1950-1970 with slab lengths between 10 and
    15 m and transverse expansion joints between the
    slabs.
  • This road is still in a good condition after more
    than 50 years of service.

  • A fine exposed aggregate surface combines a good
