Objectives

    self-reliant and income generating activities in
    the camps and hosting communities
  • To seek for potential self-reliant and income
    generating activities from community based
    organizations in the camps, hosting communities,
    concerned GOs and concerned NGOs.

Direct assistance to promote income generating
activities
  • Small grants, credit fund or revolving fund
    should be explored

    pilot project at BMN

    shop, Technical college, The Royal Folk Arts and
    Crafts Training Center, Mae Hong Son night
    market.

    and ice cream making are also provided.

Recommendations
  • Find sub-contract works for refugees
  • Display products at OTOP shop and the Royal Folk
    Arts and Crafts Training Center
  • Establish market inside camps
  • Integrate concept of cooperative and savings
    group in the curriculum of secondary school and
    establish small enterprise shops of students
  • Set up small enterprise groups with income
    generation i.e frog raising, catfish raising, and
    chili processing, etc..
  • Set up agricultural groups for income generation
    as pilot project in the camps that land available
  • Set up appropriate technology groups and include
    hosting communities
  • Set up revolving fund groups after training
    provided.
  • Provide training on capacity building, up grade
    skills, and all relevant skills include exposure
    trip
  • Identify implementing partners
  • Obtain permit for refugees to work outside/
    nearby camps
  • Coordinate with concerned GOs for further
    cooperation.
