    and leading people to God. It is a place of
    encounter
  • Where God meets man!
  • At times it entails praying people through to the
    Holy Ghost, deliverance, healing.
  • At times it may require just comforting, talking,
    listening or giving a bible study.

  • Biblical Basis For Praying People Through
  • Apostles and Disciples in Acts 1 2 had spent 3
    ½ years with Jesus, learning how to pray, repent,
    and praise.
  • The Jews, being very indoctrinated in their
    religion, had a very good understanding in
    repentance and praise.
  • The tabernacle plan required both repentance
    (brazen altar), praise (golden altar).

  • Put words in their mouth to get them to speak in
    tongues
  • Mess up their clothes or their hair
  • Dont tell them they have the Holy Ghost
  • Dos
  • Be Observant and alert! But the wisdom from above
    is first pure, then peaceable, gentle,
    reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits,

  • If possible pray for someone that would
    best identify with you. Are they coherent? Are
    they under the influence of drugs or alcohol? Are
    they hurting? Are they sick? Ask them! Talk to
    them!
  • Get their consent
  • Be sensitive (inoffensive)
  • Be positive (encourage a word of Faith)
  • Pray out loud with them
  • Be patient (longsuffering)

  • Be wise as serpents and harmless as doves (Matt.
    1016)
  • Basic Steps of Altar Work
  • Search and Destroy (the works of the devil)
  • Search out someone in the altar or in the pew.
    Remember, where is the altar? Anywhere. Decide
    who to pray for, approach the person, preferably
    woman to woman, man to man. Remember to be
    gentle.

  • Assess the needs observe/listen/be sensitive to
    the spirit.Watch body language, and (note
    intensity, if they are kneeling down, crying,
    quiet, excited, shaking, smiling, scared, tight,
    etc)
  • If necessary, instruct the person through
    repentance repent with them. Ask the Lord to
    forgive me of all my sins and help me to never do
    it again.
  • Assist them through the transition of
    repentance to praise and worship. Ask them if
    they believe God has forgiven them.

  • Quote 1st John 19 If we confess our sins, he
    is faithful and just to forgive us our sins,
    and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness
    (learn this verse by memory).
  • Ask them if they would lift their hand (a gentle
    nudge with the finger on the elbow) You must get
    their consent, dont force their hand in the air
    and thank God for forgiving you of your sins.

    and worship
  • to receiving the Holy Ghost. Watch body language,
    you can
  • watch facial expressions and body movements such

  • After praying with them ask them about baptism
    Have you
  • been baptized in name of Father, Son, and Holy
    Ghost?, if yes
  • explain Jesus name baptism (or set up a Bible
    study).

  • Introduce yourself, ask who brought them, ask
    them how
  • they feel, offer them a Bible study, register
    them at the visitor
  • table or booth. Get their number (dont give out

    wise fisher-

    relationship, People

  • Definition of Repentance Its asking God to
    forgive you of
  • all your sins, and being sorry for your sins. A
    180 degree
  • turn- Turning around and going the other
    direction (walk
  • towards Jesus)
  • Repent with them (kneeling is a good position).
  • Encourage Godly sorrow. It worketh repentance

  • Speaking in tongues is the evidence of receiving
    the Holy
  • Ghost. This happened in Acts 1045, Acts 2.
  • Tell them not to be afraid to speak in tongues.
    Tell them the
  • Lord is very close to you.
  • When they start speaking in tongues, celebrate,
    ask them not
  • to stop in order to have more confirmation.

  • Try and sit next to or close to someone that
    needs the Holy
  • Ghost. Invite them to the altar or pray with them
    at their pew.
  • If someone in the service or at the altar has not
    explained to
  • them about receiving the Holy Ghost, take the
    time to expl-
  • ain to them what will happen and how to yield to
    the spirit.
  • Stay with them until they have finished praying.
    Then ask
  • them if they heard the different words they were
    speaking.

  • Rejoice with them and let them know, speaking in
    tongues
  • is the sign of receiving the Holy Ghost.
  • APPOINT AN ALTAR WORKER CAPTAIN!
  • When the person you are praying with receives the
    Holy
  • Ghost you should do 3 things 1. Lift your hand
    and wave it
  • so the altar captain can give you an altar card
    for follow up.
  • 2. You should fill out the card with them after
    they are
  • through praying and give it to the altar captain.
    3. Ask them
  • if they have been baptized, explain it to them if
    necessary.
