Did You Know?
  • The Delton Kellogg Rural Agricultural School
    District began in 1935 with the consolidation of
    8 small country schools. A grant from the W.K.
    Kellogg Foundation and support from the tax
    payers allowed the construction of the original
    building.

Did You Know?
  • Over the next 24 years (18) small districts were
    annexed to create the present Delton Kellogg
    Schools.
  • The Delton School District covers 117 square
    miles which includes 4 square miles of public
    land and 11 square miles of water.
  • The first graduating class was 1937 with (16)
    graduates.

  • Soon after additions were made to both ends of
    the original building as enrollment grew.

An additional building was added for the woodshop.

  • Enrollment continued to grow and a bond issue was
    passed for the construction of a lower elementary
    building.

  • In 1959 a bond issue was passed to build a new
    high school west of the original buildings. This
    is our present Middle School.

  • In 1966 an addition to the west side of the high
    school was built to house numbers in the
    intermediate grades.

  • As Delton continued to grow a wing was added to
    the lower elementary. At the same time an
    addition was added to connect the upper and lower
    elementary buildings.

  • In 1975 as our enrollment reached 2475 a new high
    school was built.

An 8 room wing, gym and kitchen were added to the
elementary school in 1994 to support growing
numbers in the lower grades.

We realize that our committee efforts have over
lapped other committee initiatives, however we
had to arrive at some assumptions to achieve
progress on strategic facilities planning, we
will make adjustments to our plan and assumptions
