Domain Name Registration
  • SBCIS can register your new domain name with SBC
    E-Services.
  • Self-registration can be done at
    http//sbcdomreg.com or with the registry of your
    choice.
  • SBC E-Services pricing is as follows
  • 50.00 per domain leased for 2 years.
  • 75.00 per domain leased for 3 years.
  • 125.00 per domain leased for 5 years.

Domain Name System entries
  • First 3 domain name entries are free. Each
    additional entry is 100.00 per domain. DNS
    modifications are 50.00 per occurrence.
  • SBCIS can act as primary and/or secondary for
    your domain.
  • The customers primary DNS server controls SBCIS
    secondary DNS entry.

Local Area Network (LAN)
  • If multiple users at your location access the
    Internet
  • You need to connect your dedicated access service
    to your LAN
  • You have to use the TCP/IP protocol suite
  • You may have to translate your proprietary
    network traffic into the standard IP protocol
    with a gateway such as a server or other
    translation device
  • You will be responsible for the gateway equipment
    and associated configuration

Local Area Network (LAN)
  • You are responsible for configuring your LAN
    equipment to communicate with the dedicated
    access router
  • You can consult with a technical consultant
    before connecting to the SBC Internet Services
    network if you do not know how to configure your
    LAN
  • We will be responsible for providing a reliable
    connection to the Internet from a WAN serial
    interface of your dedicated access router

Customers without a LAN
  • To connect your SBC Internet Services router
    directly to a single host, you will need a
    crossover cable
  • To connect your router to more than one host, you
    will need an Ethernet repeater (hub or switch)
  • You will be responsible for obtaining,
    configuring, and installing this equipment
  • You will save time by installing and configuring
    all hardware and software before service
    activation

Monday to Friday 900 AM to 400 PM (CST)
  • Your provisioning engineer will verify
  • You connected your router to the transport
    facility
  • You established communication with your router
  • You configured your router to the Customer
    Internet Detail/IP Scheme

  • If the provisioning engineer cannot reach you, or
    you are not ready within 15 minutes of your
    scheduled appointment, we will reschedule
  • Having difficulty configuring your router? If
    not a SBC provided router, you can contact the
    router manufacturers technical support group

Service connection
  • Your connection is working whenyour router can
    exchange data with remote hosts on the Internet
    via numerical IP addresses
  • Your Internet billing will start the day after
    connectivity, or on the 11th day after the
    transport circuit has been installed, whichever
    comes first.

  • Dedicated Enhanced Service Center (DESC)
  • Provides 24X7 customer support at
    1-888-212-5411
  • Monitors your dedicated Internet access
    connection (excluding ISDN and Business DSL
    transport services)
  • If you place your router behind a firewall, you
    must allow ICMP (PING) access, or we will not be
    able to monitor your connection
