  • Formal evaluation of scholarly articles and
    empirical studies.
  • Formal SoTL research projects.
  • Online searches and data retrieval.
  • Online student written newsletters.
  • Oral multimedia presentations.
  • Reflective journal of personal development.
  • Scholarly manuscripts for refereed publication.

Seminar Focus
  • Information fluency (merger of critical thinking
    skills, technical competence, and information
    literacy)
  • Acquisition of key research skills, e.g., library
    skills, proposal writing, data analysis,
    technology integration, writing for publication,
    speaking, and presentation skills
  • Student Engagement
    Active learning cooperative and
    collaborative learning strategies for successful
    interactions with others from diverse backgrounds
