Definitions Information on QUAR Weapons and
Equipment
  • 12mm SA Rifle is a semi-automatic rifle firing
12mm steel jacketed, hollow-point, and armor
piercing ammunition from a 10 round box magazine.
Ammunition can be loaded by replacing the
magazine, or by pushing two 5-round clips into
the top of the rifle, with an empty magazine in
place, Ammunition is issued in 10 round boxes
made up of 2 5-round clips. Magazines are issued
    normally 4 to a rifle.
  • 12mm Belt-fed LMG. This machinegun uses 12mm
rifle rounds in a non-disintegrating belt. It
can be fed from 200 round boxes when used with
its bipod or from a 50 round belt in a light
metal magazine mounted on the right of the
machinegun. The magazine is normally used while
the weapon is carried in the assault role. The
machinegun can also be mounted on a tripod and
used as a heavy machinegun, or on an AA mount as
    an anti-air weapon.
  • 5mm Cone Rifle. This weapon mounts a 4xpower
Day-Night scope. The large magazine carries 50
rounds plus the reservoir for the liquid
propellant. The barrel is diamond lined and the
rounds made from iridium, tungsten, or depleted
uranium. It is designed as an anti-vehicle
    weapon with anti-personnel capability, especially
as a sniper rifle. The 5mm round is fired at
hypersonic speeds with penetration of up to 50mm
of armor at a 60 degree angle or 100mm of
vertical steel armor plate at 500 meters. It is
effective against light armored vehicles up to
    1000 meters range.
  • TT Grenade. The Twist and Throw Grenade is a
large canister shaped grenade with a throwing
handle that doubles as a carrying handle. The
safety pin is pulled, the handle twisted to arm
the grenade, and then the grenade is thrown using
the handle to fling it at a target. It is a duel
purpose HEAT-HE grenade. A thin ribbon is
deployed attached to the handle when the handle
ejects 5 seconds after it is twisted. This arms
the grenade and keeps the HEAT charge facing
forward. The outer shell of the grenade is made
from very thin wire, notched to provide effective
anti-personnel effects within 50m of the grenade
when it explodes. Penetration of steel armor is
approximately 100-400mm depending the angle of
impact. Fusing is by an inertial detector which
detects the sudden deceleration of the grenade
when it hits a solid target.
  • ATGM-CL4 is a 90mm shaped charge top attack fire
and forget anti-tank guided missile with a range
of 1000 meters and penetration of 600mm of armor
steel or 1800mm of reinforced concrete. The
missile is aimed at a target, the trigger pulled,
a beep tone turns steady when the missile locks
on, and a second pull on the trigger fires the
missile. The missile can also be set to fly
directly towards a target with a simple switch.
This is used against bunker slits and light AFV.
The targeting, firing mechanism is the size of a
12mm automatic pistol and is retained by the
gunner before discarding the empty missile case.
  • Body armor. QUAR body armor protects the upper
body but not the head or arms. It consists of
plastic and ceramic inserts in a bullet proof
    cloth vest.

Rules. 5150 and ARC OF FIRE SF
  • Arc of Fire SF (draft) Rules.
  • 12mm SA rifle uses the HMG table for determining
the n number to hit with a rate of fire of 2.
  • 12mm LMG and HMG uses the HMG table for
determining the n number to hit with a rate of
fire of 4 for the LMG and 6 for the HMG.
  • Pistol. Uses the Pistol table. Satchel charges
use the Engineer Demo Charge table.
  • Cone Rifle. Uses the 40-47mm Cannon table 1 to
the die roll, with no Blast and 2 Dice. Thermal
    night vision Sniper Scope.
  • TT Grenade. Uses the normal grenade rules but
for the n number use the Infantry Flamethrower
    number 3/2.
  • ATGM-CL4 uses the ATGM 1990 n number with a 20
minimum range. Firer declares before firing if a
top or direct attack. Top attacks against AFV
use side armor. ( ) armor does affect this
missile if located on vehicle roof.
  • QUAR body armor modifies infantry weapon fire by
a -1 to the die roll.
  • QUAR TAC is 1 less then that given for like
troops in the rule book. Elite QUAR infantry TAC
is 3, Good 4, Regulars 5, Green 6. Morale is
4 for Elite, 5 for Good and Regulars, 6 for
Green. Quar 10-Quar squads may break down into 2
5-man teams. Normal armament carried is 1 NCO
(SA or Cone Rifle), 1 LMG Team (3 Quar), 1 Cone
Rifle (total in Squad no more then 2), one AT
specialist (4 morale when attacking AFV), and
five riflemen. ATGM-CL4 and TT grenades are
issued as ammunition. QUAR night vision is
normal but daylight vision is equal to having
    binoculars.
  • 5150 Rules
  • QUAR attributes. Agile, Combat Artist, Wary.
