Assembly/transport frame for SM has to be
designed (where?) -gt ensures assembly of each SM
within defined tolerances -gt could serve also as
a transport frame for SM to CERN For
integration of three SMs in 2005 we
need LIFTING DEVICE !!

Lifting Device (LD)what has been done so far ?

It was foreseen to design and build the LDS at
JINR in Dubna -gt first design proposals (VC, EK)

Lifting Device (LD)what has been done so far ?
ALICE-TRD
Discussions with TOF people about a common LD
TRD/TOF not very successful, TC will try to
convince TOF to use at least a common support
structure for LDs -gt up to now no news Since MOU
now only foresees chamber production and testing
at JINR and no participation in the LD project,
the job has to be done somewhere else. Muenster
will provide manpower to help in this project
(IKP, HD) -gt discussions have already started
about a solution where the SM assemly/transport
frame could be part of the LD -gt design proposal
