• 160,000 skilled trade enterprises in NRW
• about 1 m employees and
• 100,000 apprentices

• even more important than industry (800,000

LGH Projects

• aim at supporting SMEs/skilled trades in areas
  where they have deficiencies
  
• commonly conducted with involvment of several
  partners
• frequently subsidized by NRW or federal
  government and the EU

Other activities

• Information service (guidelines, intercompany

Dual System

• training in companies (4 days per week) and
  vocational schools (1 day per week)
• 3-year period of training
• about 110 skilled trades (360 in all areas)
• additional courses in intercompany training
  centers to complete skills (financially supported
  by the State LGH-programme)
