you especially the people walking past
  • Do not talk about fellow referees, this is not
    part of your referee etiquette
  • If you have any issues or concerns please address

Pregame
  • Talk to your crew and let them know what you as
the referee expect from them Offside, Foul
recognition etc. The new officials are now
    starting so this is important!
  • Greet the coaches and introduce yourselves.

22
Before the game starts!

    of the field.

During the game
  • Back up the head official with scores, cautions
    and ejections
  • Come to their aid if a scuffle starts
  • If they are having problems with a coach help
    them deal with it
  • 911 to be used only in emergencies (threatening
    you etc)

24
Injuries
  • Check on the injured player
  • Summon on the coach or trainer, if necessary

as they target the officials and often get
    themselves into trouble

    offense if need be.

immediately to check on the players.
  • Goalkeeper injuries.they are special.
  • Remember the proper restartdropped ball foul for
    red team etc

26
New decision regarding Penalty Kicks
  • If an Attacker encroaches ball goes into goal
you retake the pk. Ball does not go into goal
indirect free kick at where the attacker
    encroached for the defending team.
  • Defender encroaches and goal is scored, allow
goal, if saved retake the pk.
  • If both attacker and defender encroach retake
    pk.

27
Referees, Assistant Referees and Fourth
Officials
  • Celebration of a Goal
  • New Text
  • A player must be cautioned when
  • he covers his head or face with a mask or other
    similar item

28
USSF Advice to Referees
  • This change in the Law is intended only to extend
the existing provision that a player who removes
the jersey or uses the jersey to cover the head
as part of a goal celebration has committed
misconduct and is to be cautioned.

29
Signal to indicate the foul was inside the
penalty area.
Also to indicate on a penalty kick that the
keeper moved early.
30
Cautions and Send offs!!
31
Cautions and Send Offs
  • You must fill in cautions and ejections on the
    game form.
  • All red cards require a separate misconduct form
and need to be sent into the office fir a and d
    issues.
  • Failure to do so within 48 hours means you will
not be assigned any further games and you are
    guilty of referee misconduct

32
Why??
  • All Red cards Coach, Spectator, Player require a
    misconduct report.
  • Why? So that the A and D Panel can deal with
    them.
  • Hearings take place within a week or 2 of the red
    cards taking place.
  • You do not need to attend provided you have
    provided a detailed report.
  • Keep it factual and keep your emotions out of it.
