- 19 July 1947 Very first UNESCO Club created in
Japan - 4 November 1949 Mr Jaime Terres-Bodet, then DG
of UNESCO, launched an appeal for the creation of
UNESCO Clubs in secondary schools and
universities - April 1978 1st World Congress of UNESCO Clubs
- July 1981 Creation of the World Federation of
UNESCO Clubs - Today More than 3600 UNESCO Clubs in over 90
countries
