Conclusion
  • Based on a preliminary review of
  • selected available data relevant to
  • advising, we acknowledge that
  • advising is complex and one size
  • does not fit all. We recommend the
  • creation of a task force on advising
  • from a faculty perspective to engage
  • in dialogue with students, APSCUF,
  • management, and the larger faculty
  • to determine best practices,
  • implement, and conduct ongoing
  • assessment.

14
RECOMMENDATIONS
  • Appoint an on-going Task Force on Academic
    Advising (2 year term)
  • The task force will be charged with the planning
and implementing a Flowchart of Assessment in
    Academic Advising

15
RECOMMENDATIONS contd.
  • Membership of the Task Force would include
  • - all the current members of the Strategic
Study Group on Academic Advising Faculty
    Perspectives
  • - representation from the Strategic Study
    Group on Academic Advising Student
    Perspectives
  • - plus three new student members
    (undergraduate, graduate, nontraditional)
