Introduction
The sate of Iowa is located is the Midwest. It
is called, The Hawkeye State and The Corn
Huskers. The Mississippi River is to the West
and the state was founded on December 28, 1846.
It was the 29th state.

  • John Wayne- He made about 200. Many of them were
    cowboy films. He acted in True Grit that won an
    Academy Award.
  • William Buffalo Bill Cody- He became a famous

  • Herbert Hoovers Birthplace-It is in West Ranch

  • Amana Colonies-It is seven German Villages
    located southwest of Cedar Rapids.
  • Dodge House-is in Council Bluffs. A railroad
    builder named after Grenville M. Dodge lived
    there.
  • Effigy Mounds National Monument- is near
    Marquette. It was built by prehistoric Indians.

Come to the Hawkeye State. We have one of the
best football teams. You should come and try our
one of a kind corn on the cob. Our state is the
best.
