Christs Nature
  •  Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth,
and the life no one comes to the Father but
through Me. If you had known Me, you would have
known My Father also from now on you know Him,
    and have seen Him." .

4
The Way
  • John 147
  • If you had known Me, you would have known My
Father also from now on you know Him, and have
    seen Him." .
  • Matt 713
  • Enter through the narrow gate for the gate is
wide and the way is broad that leads to
destruction, and there are many who enter through
    it.

  • and you will know the truth, and the truth will
    make you free.

His Example
  • Luke 241 49
  • Now His parents went to Jerusalem every year at
the Feast of the Passover.  42And when He became
twelve, they went up there according to the
    custom of the Feast
  •  43and as they were returning, after spending the
full number of days, the boy Jesus stayed behind
in Jerusalem. But His parents were unaware of it,
  •  44but supposed Him to be in the caravan, and
went a day's journey and they began looking for
Him among their relatives and acquaintances.

8
  •  45When they did not find Him, they returned to
    Jerusalem looking for Him.
  •  46Then, after three days they found Him in the
temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers,
both listening to them and asking them questions.
  •  47And all who heard Him were amazed at His
    understanding and His answers.

9
  • 48When they saw Him, they were astonished and
His mother said to Him, "Son, why have You
treated us this way? Behold, Your father and I
have been anxiously looking for You."
  •  49And He said to them, "Why is it that you were
looking for Me? Did you not know that I had to be
    in My Father's house?"

10
  • 1Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the
wilderness to be tempted by the devil.  2And
after He had fasted forty days and forty nights,
    He then became hungry.
  •  3And the tempter came and said to Him, "If You
are the Son of God, command that these stones
    become bread."
  • 4But He answered and said, "It is written, 'MAN
SHALL NOT LIVE ON BREAD ALONE, BUT ON EVERY WORD
THAT PROCEEDS OUT OF THE MOUTH OF GOD.'"

11
  •  5Then the devil took Him into the holy city and
had Him stand on the pinnacle of the temple,
  •  6and said to Him, "If You are the Son of God,
throw Yourself down for it is written, 'HE WILL
COMMAND HIS ANGELS CONCERNING YOU' and'ON their
HANDS THEY WILL BEAR YOU UP, SO THAT YOU WILL NOT
STRIKE YOUR FOOT AGAINST A STONE.'"

12
  • 7Jesus said to him, "On the other hand, it is
written, 'YOU SHALL NOT PUT THE LORD YOUR GOD TO
    THE TEST.'"
  •  8Again, the devil took Him to a very high
mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the
    world and their glory
  •  9and he said to Him, "All these things I will
give You, if You fall down and worship me."
  •  10Then Jesus said to him, "Go, Satan! For it is
written, 'YOU SHALL WORSHIP THE LORD YOUR GOD,
    AND SERVE HIM ONLY.'"

13
Fasted Forty Days and Forty Nights
Satan said Jesus Said
  • Make Bread and eat
  • If you are the Sonthrow yourself down
  • Worship me!
  • Man shall not live by bread alone
  • Do not put God to the test
  • Serve God Only!!

His Passion
  • John 213ff
  • The Passover of the Jews was near, and Jesus
went up to Jerusalem.  And He found in the temple
those who were selling oxen and sheep and doves,
and the money changers seated at their tables.
And He made a scourge of cords, and drove them
all out of the temple, with the sheep and the
oxen and He poured out the coins of the money
    changers and overturned their tables

15
  • Matt 2112ff
  • And Jesus entered the temple and drove out all
those who were buying and selling in the temple,
and overturned the tables of the money changers
and the seats of those who were selling doves.
And He said to them, "It is written, 'MY HOUSE
SHALL BE CALLED A HOUSE OF PRAYER' but you are
    making it a ROBBERS' DEN"

16
  • John 111 Now a certain man was sick, Lazarus
of Bethany, the village of Mary and her sister
Martha. It was the Mary who anointed the Lord
with ointment, and wiped His feet with her hair,
whose brother Lazarus was sick. So the sisters
sent word to Him, saying, "Lord, behold, he whom
You love is sick."4 But when Jesus heard this, He
said, "This sickness is not to end in death, but
for the glory of God, so that the Son of God may
be glorified by it. Now Jesus loved Martha and
    her sister and Lazarus.

17
  • So when He heard that he was sick, He then stayed
two days longer in the place where He was. Then
after this He said to the disciples, "Let us go
to Judea again. The disciples said to Him,
"Rabbi, the Jews were just now seeking to stone
You, and are You going there again? Jesus
answered, "Are there not twelve hours in the day?
If anyone walks in the day, he does not stumble,
because he sees the light of this world. "But if
anyone walks in the night, he stumbles, because
the light is not in him."

18
  • This He said, and after that He said to them,
"Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep but I go,
so that I may awaken him out of sleep. The
disciples then said to Him, "Lord, if he has
fallen asleep, he will recover. Now Jesus had
spoken of his death, but they thought that He was
speaking of literal sleep. So Jesus then said to
them plainly, "Lazarus is dead, and I am glad for
your sakes that I was not there, so that you may
believe but let us go to him."

19
  • Therefore Thomas, who is called Didymus, said to
his fellow disciples, "Let us also go, so that we
may die with Him. So when Jesus came, He found
that he had already been in the tomb four days.
Now Bethany was near Jerusalem, about two miles
off and many of the Jews had come to Martha and
Mary, to console them concerning their brother.
Martha therefore, when she heard that Jesus was
coming, went to meet Him, but Mary stayed at the
    house.

20
  • Martha then said to Jesus, "Lord, if You had been
here, my brother would not have died. "Even now
I know that whatever You ask of God, God will
give You. Jesus said to her, "Your brother
will rise again. Martha said to Him, "I know
that he will rise again in the resurrection on
the last day. Jesus said to her, "I am the
resurrection and the life he who believes in Me
will live even if he dies,

21
  • and everyone who lives and believes in Me will
never die. Do you believe this? She said to
Him, "Yes, Lord I have believed that You are the
Christ, the Son of God, even He who comes into
the world. When she had said this, she went
away and called Mary her sister, saying secretly,
"The Teacher is here and is calling for you.
And when she heard it, she got up quickly and
was coming to Him. Now Jesus had not yet come
into the village, but was still in the place
    where Martha met Him.

22
  • Then the Jews who were with her in the house, and
consoling her, when they saw that Mary got up
quickly and went out, they followed her,
supposing that she was going to the tomb to weep
there. Therefore, when Mary came where Jesus
was, she saw Him, and fell at His feet, saying to
Him, "Lord, if You had been here, my brother
would not have died. When Jesus therefore saw
her weeping, and the Jews who came with her also
weeping, He was deeply moved in spirit and was
troubled, and said, "Where have you laid him?"
They said to Him, "Lord, come and see.
  • Jesus wept.

23
The Men
  • Matt 418ff Now as Jesus was walking by the Sea
of Galilee, He saw two brothers, Simon who was
called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a
net into the sea for they were fishermen. And
He said to them, "Follow Me, and I will make you
    fishers of men."
