• Design, implement and integrate a software system
  that queries optimally multimedia databases
• The databases contain standard DICOM files or
  other types of medical images
• The system increases accuracy regarding
  diagnosis, decision time and therapeutically
  conduct
• The software system belongs to the INFORMATICS
  AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGIES area
• Interdisciplinary character operations systems,
  databases, distributed computer networks,
  software engineering, distributed programming,
  medical diagnosis.

• Create a collaborative environment where
  e-Learning educational activities may take place
• The environment is an integrated solution from
  hardware and software point of view
• Interdisciplinary character pedagogical,
  computer science (software engineering, machine

• Implementation of a custom DICOM viewer with
  specific implemented features
• Definition of a multimedia database that stores
  images and meta-information
• Improvement or creation of algorithms of image
  processing
• Improvement and creation of algorithms for
  pre-processing query images
• Implementation of a graphical interface module
  that gathers all facilities
• Database kernel with specific functions for
  storing, processing and querying a new type of
  data

• The infrastructure will use standard technologies
  and specifications that ensure interoperability,
  accessibility, content reuse.
• The platform will use WFM (Work Flow Management)
  and SCORM technologies
• The BRP (Business Process Re-engineering) will
  take care of assignment, analysis, definition and
  implementation of business processes
• Development of tools that perform platform and
  user characterization and improve the quality of
  service
