Intellectual Property Exchange Deed

• Codan Barrett have worked through and signed an
  Intellectual Property Exchange Deed
• The Deed is aimed at bi-lateral exchange of full
  6-digit Selcall protocol details between
  manufacturers
• Allows products from either manufacturer to be
  fully backwards compatible with currently fielded
  equipment from the other company
• Ensures fault-free interoperability through
  testing prior to making it available to the UN

• UN Protocol in Codan NGT

• Complete Barrett protocol now exchanged with
  Codan allowing Codan transceivers to be backward
  interoperable with fielded Barrett equipment.
• Any and all of these protocols will be
  available for interoperable use

Codan Selcall Protocol Features

• Full backwards compatibility for all call types
  to previous (i.e 9360) and current (i.e. NGT)
  Codan transceivers series.
• No software upgrades of Codan transceivers
  already in the field will be required for
  interoperability.
• Transparent operation in networks with mixed
  4-digit and 6-digit addressing.
• Ensured privacy with data encryption available
  for all messaging functions (GPS, Message (Page)
  Status Call).
• Privacy Password Length (6 digits for 9360, 15
  digits for NGT)
• Encryption protocol exchanged via Deed
• Text messages with up to 64 characters, lower
  case characters and receipt acknowledgement.
