What Is A Tornado?

• A tornado is a column of air that rotates in
  strong motions.
• A tornado comes from a cumulonimbus (storm) cloud
  and reaches towards the ground.
• Tornadoes are labeled weak, strong, or
  violent.
• Weak tornadoes look like thin ropes. About 7
  out of 10 tornadoes are of this type.
• Strong tornadoes have the funnel-shaped cloud
  with whirling winds moving upward. Nearly 3 out
  of 10 tornadoes are of this type.
• Less than 2 out of 10 tornadoes are of the
  violent type. This type of tornado can level a
  home and has a huge, circular wall cloud above
  it.

A Day in the Life of a Tornado
It was a stormy day at my house. Mom and Dad had
such an argument that Grandfather Thundercloud
came over to check things out. This did not help
matters.The winds began to pick up as Dads
temper worsened. Soon a whirl of wind swooshed
