Articulation Process
  • April 2009

3
Introduction
  • TCA Update Schedule Process
  • Annual reservations are conducted
  • via e-mail
  • select a month between June and August
  • Timeline (OSCAR)
  • Priority based on timely responses

4
TCA Update Packet Contents
  • Email explanation and Cover letter
  • Attachments include
  • Policy and Process on Course Transferability
  • Directions for Revising UC Transferable Course
    Agreements
  • Special Regulations for Courses in Specific
    Subject Areas
  • A triple-spaced copy of your colleges most
    recent articulation agreement (TCA)

5
Things to do when Updating your TCA
  • Enter all course outlines for consideration into
    OSCAR
  • outlines must be current no more than 5 years
    old
  • Include text books within 5 years old (online
    textbooks ok)
  • indicate prerequisites/corequisites
  • Return the triple-spaced copy with changes and
    additions
  • (Please use black/blue ink only when marking your
    TCA)
  • Include a copy of your current college catalog
  • (The TCA update will not be done unless a catalog
    is included)

6
Things to do when Updating your TCA continued
  • Be sure the courses you are submitting are
already in the ASSIST curriculum database
    including
  • changes to course numbers, titles and unit values
  • Cross-listed courses need only be added into
OSCAR in one of the disciplines
  • If ASSIST does not have this information, we can
not make a decision in OSCAR and the course will
    not appear on your TCA
  • Course changes linked in ASSIST appropriately
will activate the formerly function to identify
when one course number becomes another
  • Also its important to remember that if you are
deleting a course from your TCA you need to be
sure the course has been deleted from the ASSIST
    curriculum database

7
Things to do when Updating your TCA continued
  • Please do not alter the triple-spaced copy of
your TCA that we have sent you to mark up
  • TCA should remain single-sided and unstapled
  • When returning the triple-spaced copy of your TCA
    to us
  • be sure to include all pages, not just the pages
    with changes/editions
  • Please include with your TCA update submission
  • A cover letter indicating which courses are being
proposed and identify any pre-articulation with
    the UC campuses
  • You may also identify that a course similar to an
already approved course at a sister campus is
    submitted

8
When Your TCA is Finalized
  • You will receive
  • An e-mail notification indicating the status of
those courses proposed along with any other
    information relating to your TCA
  • You will be able to
  • Access your published TCA on Web ASSIST at
    www.assist.org
