• This project is supports NASA education goals
  to inspire the next generation of explorers.
  High school students involved are from Northbrook
  High School in Illinois, Columbus High in
  Georgia, Sauk Rapids High in Minnesota, and Susan
  Wagner High in New York.

• As an educational outreach activity, the
  Parrott sounding rocket launch will enable
  students to experience design, development, and
  testing of sounding rockets and science payloads.
• Four on-board experiments will be performed
  including a study of fracture patterns in
  weightlessness, measurement of a miniaturized
  patch antenna on a tumbling body, measurement of
  gas expansion rates in weightlessness, and
  measurement of light absorption using spectral
  imagers.

• Primary contracted support is from the NASA
  Sounding Rocket Operations Contract (NSROC).
  NSROC is assisting students in developing the
  payload and the vehicle systems.
• Contract services are also being used to
  recover the payload in a water recovery.
• The overall budget for the project is under
  100K.
