Insect Behavior
  • Insects sometimes live alone.
  • However, many insects live in large colonies
    (ants, bees, wasps, etc.)
  • Insects must often communicate with each other.
One method is the use of pheromones.
  • Pheromones are extremely powerful chemicals
released by insects to communicate. These can
sometimes be sensed a mile away.

14
Pheromones
  • Your mission now, should you choose to accept it,
is to find other members of your species by the
smell of the pheromones given to you.
