Karité
Shea butter contains up to 17 unsaponifiables.
The unsaponifiable fraction is composed of
phenols tocopherols, triterpenes (alpha-amyrin,
lupeol, butyrospermol, parkeol),steroids
(campesterol, stigmasterol, beta-sitosterol,
alpha-spinasterol, delta-7-avenasterol) and
hydrocarbons (2-3 karitene). It also contains
terpenic alcohols.

Conclusions
Nous nous permettons dinsister sur lintérêt de
cette technique qui a donné des résultats
encourageants. La méthode est peu onéreuse et
est applicable par le personnel infirmier local,
moyennant une formation spécialisée et un bon
encadrement médical. Poursuivons en
généralisant la méthode à Zouan-Hounien, ou mieux
encore dans dautres centres également, de
manière soutenue sur une période de deux ans afin
de perfectionner la méthode et de conclure sur sa
validité, ses avantages et inconvénients.
As clearly demonstrated, the technique proposed
has given encouraging results. Equipment and
supplies cost is minimal, therefore local nurses
may be trained by qualified regional supervising
doctors. Let us proceed with a 2-year general
application of the technique in Zouan-Hounien,
and ideally in several other places, in order to
perfect the technique and conclude on its
validity, advantages and inconvenients.
