Note Well
  • Any submission to the IETF intended by the
Contributor for publication as all or part of an
IETF Internet-Draft or RFC and any statement made
within the context of an IETF activity is
    considered an IETF Contribution. Such
statements include oral statements in IETF
sessions, as well as written and electronic
communications made at any time or place, which
    are addressed to
  • the IETF plenary session,
  • any IETF working group or portion thereof,
  • the IESG, or any member thereof on behalf of the
    IESG,
  • the IAB or any member thereof on behalf of the
    IAB,
  • any IETF mailing list, including the IETF list
itself, any working group or design team list, or
any other list functioning under IETF auspices,
  • the RFC Editor or the Internet-Drafts function
  • All IETF Contributions are subject to the rules
of RFC 3978 and RFC 3979. Statements made outside
of an IETF session, mailing list or other
function, that are clearly not intended to be
input to an IETF activity, group or function, are
not IETF Contributions in the context of this
    notice.
  • Please consult RFC 3978 for details.

Work Item Status
  • BFCP Connection In RFC Editor Queue
  • XCON Framework Complete. Will be requesting
    publication this week or next.
  • Data Model Will be undergoing dedicated review,
WCLG in the next few weeks.
  • Conference Event Package We need more eyes
looking at this document and discussing it.
  • Conference Control Protocol We will begin work
on operations after Data Model passes WGLC.

6
Working Group Status
  • With the framework finished, the hard work seems
    to be behind us.
  • However, we are way behind schedule -- we need to
adjust the charter to at least make some of the
dates in the future (and reflect consensus to
    remove templates from model).
  • We expect that the pace for the remaining items
    should pick up significantly.
  • If we dont, we need to stop creating scheduling
    conflicts at face-to-face meetings.

7
Data Model
  • Appears to be mostly complete (no identified open
    issues remain)
  • The chairs are requesting three volunteers to
perform dedicated reviews by September 7th (six
    weeks)
  • You should read it, too. Yes, I mean you.
  • Will have a 2-week WGLC after the document is
    updated per dedicated review comments.

8
Text Chat
  • Protocol-specific work currently ongoing in
SIMPLE. This document will be referencing the
XCON document for more advanced operations.
  • The XCON chat authors plan to update this
document with specific protocol operations as the
    XCON protocol continues to evolve.
  • As input to this process, Adam will be producing
a brief gap analysis document that attempts to
    identify where gaps exist between
    current/proposed mechanisms and existing deployed
    text chat systems.
