  • Online job postings on MonsterTRAK
  • Internships Non-profit postings are free
  • For profit businesses have free online posting or
    post for a nominal cost of 30/per campus
    (depends on the individual campus policy)
  • Postings in Career Center Office in Job
    Binders-free
  • Career Centers keep a database of students
    looking for work.
  • After a job description is provided, resumes of
    qualified students are emailed to employer
  • Provided for mostly full-time/professional level
    positions

On-Campus Recruiting
Recruiting On Campus
  • Pre-selected interviews (finalized through an
    online system)
  • Conduct interviews on-campus on one day.
    Students view your information and submit a
    resume. You select those that interest you and
    the students select a time. Resume submission and
    candidate selection are usually managed
    electronically.
  • Resume Drop (You do not need to come to campus)
  • Alumni participate in Recruiting. Use career
    services to target recent alumni with more
    experience.

Internships
Supplement Enhance your work force
  • Interns provide much needed assistance when you
    cant afford to hire full-time employees
  • College students already have skills and
    knowledge that make them better than temporary
    employees
  • Most college students have higher than average
    technical skills

Interns are looking for
Meaningful work experience (i.e. ownership of
projects) Training and knowledge of how organi
zation works Monitor/supervisor to provide tra
ining and information about the career industry
Flexible pay or benefits (not just an hourly
wage)

Career Fairs Annual Events
  • One or two day events. Employers each have a
    booth and students walk through gathering
    information and making contacts. Some events have
    on-site interviews scheduled for the same or the
    following day. Career Centers usually charge a
    fee to cover their costs for these events. If you
    have professional positions, focus your efforts
    on college job fairs. Some of the fairs in New
    Orleans are
  • Fall Job Fairs
  • Non-Profit Human Services Fairs
  • Mardi Gras Invitational Career Fair
  • Teacher Fair
  • Annual Events Develop a relationship with
    potential recruits career centers by assisting
    with events such as Mock Interview Days,
    Etiquette Dinner, Job Search Workshops
