Routing Mechanism
  • Upon each transmission, one of the recipients
    retransmits.

  • What determines a link?

Classical Routing Abstraction
  • Connectivity between nodes defines the network
    graph.
  • A Routing algorithm determines the sub-graph that
    is used for communication between nodes.

  • Packets are forwarded from source to destination
    over the routing subgraph

    of the next hop

    information at hand
