  • College name currently unchanged but will be
    changed to Canadian College of Health Information
    Management (CCHIM) AGM June 2006
  • The Canadian Health Information Management
    Association (CHIMA) and the Canadian College of
    Health Record Administrators (CCHRA) operate as
    one organization, under the acronym CHIMA.

    designation may change accordingly

Certification/Credentialing
  • Both credentials ( C ) and ( A ) are valid and
    continue to be recognized

  • Mandatory Credentialing in place
  • Members not in good standing will be struck from
    the Register and notified in writing

    following order below the individual's name and
    title
  •  Certificates, Diplomas, Undergraduate degrees,
    Graduate degrees, Doctorates, Professional
    Designations, followed by Memberships so
  • College only - CCHRA(C ) or CCHRA(A)
  • University only - BSc, CCHRA(C )
  • College then University BHA, CCHRA( C )

Mandatory CPE credits
  • Confirmed by the Board June 2005
  • Process developed by COE
  • Mandatory CPE is a relevant way to demonstrate
    continuing competence within a profession
    professional self-regulation by college (like
    other allied healthcare professionals)
  • Start date September 2006 (but can go retroactive
    to September 2005)
