but the list of data sources and basic ATS
data/shared with the region through UNODC,
Bangkok. - Identify gaps in geographic and substantive

- Drug abuse data sources provide total number
of drug users, demographic data of drug users
(gender male and female age group occupation
educational attainment type of drugs used
methods of use number of mortality lifetime,
past year and past month prevalence of drug use
and estimated number of drug users among student
population, total/trends of IDUs and HIV/AIDS. - Law enforcement data sources provide total
number of illicit drug related arrests, type of
arrest (drug user, dealer, trafficker, producer),
gender, nationality, age, occupation, seizures
(amount seized)

- BNN goal is to get all the 31 BNPs as R/R
coordinators and 130 BNKs in 2006 as sources of
drug/ATS abuse data. - With the recent reorganization, the 3 new
Provincial Police (Polda) will be added to the
already existing 27 law enforcement data sources. - Accomplished through..
- Official visits to non-active BNPs and new
Poldas, hold meetings/consultation with BNP/Polda
officials re importance of drug/ATS data
collection. - Submission of budget proposal to the State
Development Planning Board (Bappenas) for the
provision of computer hardware and softwares to
160 districts in 2006.

- Contact with law enforcement network sources, is
done monthly. - Contact with drug abuse network sources through
BNPs is done every three months . - Scheduled of meetings / communications? No
regular meetings but meetings are held at least
once a year. Communications through email, fax
and telephone is done, as needed. - Do your data sources provide regular standardized
reports? Yes, because BNN provides standardized
forms for law enforcement and drug abuse,
developed in January 2004, now in CDs, and
distributed to all data sources.

Use in 10 Big Cities in Indonesia, (Health
Research Center, University of Indonesia and BNN,
2004). -
16Recent Developments in the ATS Situation
- Describe most recent developments
- Clandestine laboratories with large capacity to
produce ATS continues to increase in Indonesia as
evidently shown by the number of seized
clandestine laboratories within the year (2005) - April 8, 2005 Jasinga Village, Bogor regency
with total production of ATS is 3.780.000 tablet/
month - May 16, 2005 Tanjung Duren District, West
Jakarta, with capacity to produce 2 ecstasy
tablet per second. - Nov. 11, 2005 - Clandestine Laboratory seized in
Serang,Banten, with the capacity to produce
Ecstasy of 100 kg. per week.

- No new forms ( ice (shabu) remains the only form
seized). - No differences in ATS in different areas of
Indonesia (ice/shabu remains popular in most
provinces of Indonesia)

- Price differences in your country depends on the
purity of ATS with an average price of
Rp.100,000/tablet - No new routes of ATS administration (generally
through ingestion for ecstasy and inhaling for
methamphetamine (shabu) So far there are no
reported cases of injecting ATS.
