Graduation Requirements
  • Total credits required for graduation 230
  • See page titled High School Requirements for
    more
  • information.
  • Successful completion of the Competency in
    Technology requirement (AKA Research and Tech OR
    by passing a technology course, Media Arts, etc.
    or passing a technology proficiency exam
    completing 5 credits of an Applied Art class.)
  • Passing scores on both sections of the CAHSEE
  • All students must meet California state standards
    in Language Arts and Mathematics by passing the
    California High School Exit Exam.

  • Elective 1 year (College preparatory elective)
  • ALL classes must be passed with a grade of C or
    better
  • UC minimum GPA for admission is 3.0
  • GPA calculated from Sophomore and Junior year for
  • UC approved courses only
  • The list above represents only the minimum
    requirements. Some colleges request more. Check
    with the college of your choice.
  • If you are an athlete, ask you counselor about
    NCAA Eligibility
  • You must register online at www.ncaaclearinghouse.

  • Fill out a Student Release Form. Cost is 50.

  • PSAT/NMSQT Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test
  • Test taken October of 9th, 10th and 11th grade
  • This practice SAT is recommended but not required
    for college acceptance
  • It is recommended that students have completed
    Geometry
  • Taken during Junior year in order to compete for
    National Merit Scholarship
  • ACT Assessment plus writing and/or SAT Reasoning
    Test
  • ACT Taken April/June of 11th and/or
    October/December of 12th grade.
  • SAT Taken May or June of 10th/11th grade and/or
    no later than October/November of 12th grade
  • For UC schools, 2 SAT subject tests are required
    along with the ACT writing test
  • SAT Subject Tests- Required by UC Schools
  • Taken after completing accelerated courses in
    math, science, foreign language, world history,
    and literature
  • Some university programs require specific SAT
    Subject Tests to be considered for admission.

Honors Classes Criteria for Placement
  • Teacher approval is needed.
  • Students need to complete an annual Honors
    Contract Form signed by student and parent.
  • Students need to score advanced or proficient on
    their California Subject Test.
  • Completion of a summer assignment.
  • Assignments will be posted on THS website by
    grade level in May.
  • Pick up or download an honors packet for more
    information

  • Access Parent Portal to view your son/daughters
    grades weekly
  • https//schoolabi.tustin.k12.ca.us/ log on
    using ID and Verification Code. You can obtain
    these numbers from students counselor.
  • Student should discuss grades with teacher on a
    one-on-one basis
  • Contact your students teachers via email or
    phone extension for a parent conference (call
    ext100 for teacher extensions or access from THS
    website)
  • Contact your students counselor or make an
    appointment for further assistance
