Inverse Design Methodology
  • Converted target Cp values to v2/v28
  • Started with NACA 0012 Airfoil
  • A?z Bd(?z)/dx Cd2(?z)/dx2 v2/v28 target
    v2/v28 present
  • -- Solve MGM Eqn for ?zi (?zLE and ?zTE 0)
  • Discretize MGM Equation (FD Schemes)
  • Pick values for A,B,C (A1, B.5, C.07)
  • Solve for ?zi using MATLAB
  • Add ?zi to current y values ? New Airfoil
  • Generate Ogrid around new airfoil and compute Cp
  • Repeat Procedure until v2/v28 target v2/v28
    present ? 0

Summary
  • Developed a code for inverse airfoil design
  • Ran code for 15 iterations
