  • Diagnosis Hamstring Tendon Avulsion with
    Adjacent Hematoma.
  • History None
  • Findings Patient felt acute onset of pain and a
    mass on the back of his thigh. The hamstring
    muscle is ruptured and retracted. Fluid and
    organizing hematoma fill the gap (white arrows).
    The retracted muscle (red arrow) appears as a
    ball-like structure with dense posterior
    shadowing (s).
  • Treatment US guided aspiration on the hematoma
    and a cortisone shot.
