New ROBs on the Chamber
  • 1 x Type2B ROB, 2 x Type1A ROBs, and 1 x Type1B
    ROB.
  • New-final HV supply, distribution box, filter
    box.
  • Finalized mounting and grounding scheme, with
    proper connections.

Results from new ROBs
  • Recent ROBs production yield is good, however
  • 1 SCSN not accessible in Type2B (SCSN-IN at one
    MCM broken).
  • 1 MCM not working in Type2B.
  • Unstable SCSN in one link of Type1A Type1B
    (investigated).
  • Concerning noise
  • Further optimization of HV cable length from HV
    filter box to the chamber.
  • Noise from DCS was found and almost removed.
  • Charge pump noise is still there, being
    investigated.
  • The best value we achieved is 1.18 LSB 1250 e
    with battery.
  • Strong 8.9 MHz sin-wave oscillation if charge
    pump is not working.

Charge pump noise
  • Difference of noise in TRAP data 50 e to 100 e.
  • Contribution of 1000 e noise in addition to
    thermal noise.

  • Changes in ROB design was already done for next
    production by Ivan, with large capacitors and
    closer C-R-C-C filter to the charge pump.
  • Also we are planning to have separated shielded
    charge pump module.

Noise from DCS
  • It is well shielded by gt 25 um aluminum sheet
    between ROB and DCS.
  • Noise level is changed from 1.8 to 1.2 LSB which
    is close to the case if DCS is outside chamber
    (1.18 LSB).
  • Larger area than DCS must be covered.

Conclusion
  • We have now (acceptable) noise level 1250 e
    with battery.
  • DCS noise is understood. We introduce 25 50 um
    aluminum shield.
  • Charge pump noise is still problem. Ivan already
    is changing design. We are thinking also to have
    independent module.
  • We must investigate to have the same noise level
    for all types of ROB including Type3A,B OASE.
  • We start L0C1 equipments this week for
    super-module 1.
  • Most of the super-module components are ready to
    accept final ROBs including Type3A, Type3B,
    Type4A, and Type 4B !!
