Fall 2006 FCAT Retake Reading and Mathematics

two weeks for their Fall 2006 FCAT Retake
administration

Whats New for the Fall 2006 FCAT Retake

  • FCAT Administration Recordcombines the Record of
    Absences and Invalidations and the record of
    attendance
  • FIVE elements now need to be correct on the label
    to make it usable
  • students last name
  • student ID number
  • district number
  • school number
  • grade level
  • Because only the last four digits of the Social
    Security Number (XXXXX1284X) are printed on the
    label, school personnel must use the student
    PreID Roster to verify the complete number before
    testing begins
  • The document configuration has changed from a
    test book AND an answer document to ONE test and
    answer book for each test

Students to Be Tested

  • Grades 1113 regular and adult high school
    students who have not passed one or both parts of
    the Grade 10 FCAT
  • Certificate of Completion students
  • Three-year graduation program students (who have
    not passed one or both parts of the Grade 10
    FCAT) in the fall of their third year in high
    school

Rules for Preidentified Student Documents

  • Verify that the student identified on each label
    will be tested and that certain information on
    the label is correct
  • Use the PreID label if ALL of the following
    information is CORRECT (even if other information
    is INCORRECT)
  • students last name
  • student ID number
  • district number
  • school number
  • grade level
  • Grid any missing information in the appropriate
    sections of the grid sheet
  • You are NOT required to grid the missing numbers
    of the Social Security Number printed on the
    label if the PreID Roster reflects the correct
    Social Security Number

  • The DNS Bubble MUST be gridded on a USED document
    if
  • The document is defective
  • Certain information on the label is incorrect
  • A label has been placed over another label
  • The student is caught cheating or is disruptive
    during testing
  • The DNS Bubble MAY be gridded if
  • A student becomes ill OR is not allowed the
    correct amount of time to finish the test
  • Consideration Was the student provided
    adequate time to respond to the test questions?
  • Yes submit the document for scoring
  • No invalidate the document and return it with
    the NOT TO BE SCORED materials

  • clear their desks of all materials except the
    appropriate test materials
  • use only No. 2 pencils
  • do not have books, notes, scratch paper, or
    electronic devices even if they do not use them
    during the test
  • do not disturb others
  • work independently

  • talk with students about any test item
  • help students answer any test item
  • discuss test items or answers with students even
    after all test materials have been returned and
    testing has been completed

Return Retake Materials to the School Coordinator

  • Verify and keep a copy of your record of security
    numbers (the Security Checklist, FCAT
    Administration Record, or a form of your own)
  • Remove stray reference sheets from the test
    materials
  • Check student grid sheets to ensure the
    following
  • No stray marks in preidentified/security number
    area
  • Upper right corner was completed by each student
  • DNS and UNDO bubbles are accurately completed, if
    necessary
  • Complete the following
  • FCAT Security Log
  • Online Test Administrator Comment Form
  • Group materials using the cover sheets in
    Appendix C
  • Return materials to the school coordinator

Testing Location Considerations

  • Use classrooms whenever possible
  • Avoid testing in the cafeteria, gymnasium,
    auditorium, or library whenever possible
  • Make sure that students are not facing each other
    if seated at tables
  • Make sure that students are not in seating that
    allows them to easily view other students
    answers
  • Make sure there is sufficient space (at least
    three feet) between students

  • After verifying its accuracy, affix the label to
    the appropriate area on the large print test and
    answer book
  • For a student who does NOT have a label
  • Grid the large print student grid sheet by hand

  • Pull out any stray reference sheets
  • Verify the accuracy of each student grid sheet
  • Student name and district/school number appear in
    the appropriate locations on all test documents

    necessary
