WHIMS

• To ensure that all work is conducted safely,
  before any job of work can start a Job Safety
  Plan must the produced.

WHIMS is used to do this.

A JOB SAFETY PLAN

• Is a worksite document.

• Lists the Activities and Hazards involved in
  performing work.

• Lists the Control Measures required to ensure the
  work is carried out safely.

• Carries signatures of Applicant and Responsible
  Supervisor.

JOB SAFETY PLANS

• WHIMS has a library of generic or Reference Job
  Safety Plans (JSPs) that can be used as the basis
  for new JSPs.

• JSPs can be copied, either within the Users Area
  or from another Area.

• Only JSPs within the Users own Area can be
  edited.

JOB SAFETY PLANS
A Job Safety Plan (JSP) is produced by

• Creating the Steps, if applicable

• Selecting ACTIVITIES (the type of work to be done)

• Reviewing the HAZARDS (the events that could
  happen)

• Reviewing the CONTROLS (measures taken to
  control the Hazards)

• Steps are new to Pharos Ver. 2.1.

• They are optional.

• Steps are used to break a large, complex job down
  into smaller jobs.

• A Job Safety Plan is produced for each Step.

• The work for each Step is carried out independent
  of the other Steps.
