ARTIFICIAL LIGHTING
EFFECTS OS DYNAMIC LIGHTING
THE AIM
Answer on the following question What is the
better strategy, the permanent or the dynamic
lighting?
GENERAL INFORMATIONS
Investigations were carried out in special test
room. The task was proof-reading. Input were
permanent and different kind of dynamic
illuminance. Output were - performance, -
physiological characteristics, - subjective
opinions.

9
RESULTS
The dynamic lighting by adequate parameters is
better then the permanent one. Namely -
quantity of work is the same by permanent and
dynamic lighting, - quality of work is
significantly better by dynamic lighting, -
dynamic lighting keeps activation at a higher
level, - dynamic lighting is more
stimulating, - dynamic lighting is less
tiring, - dynamic lighting is more pleasant.

RESEARCH on
DAYLIGHTING
DETERMINATION OF THE LIGHTING METEOROLOGICAL
BACKGROUND
THE AIM
Determination of the adequate lightsource for our
given geographical location. As the visual
environment is the consequence of the applied
light.
GENERAL INFORMATIONS
The bases of the determination were - global
and direct radiation, cloudiness, - luminous
efficacy of diffuse and direct natural light.
They were registered by the meteorological
station during great many years
11
RESULTS
Development of a method for determination
lighting parameters from radiated
ones. Isopleth of sunlight.
12
RESULTS
Isopleth of skylight.
Duration curve of skylight

RESEARCH on
DAYLIGHTING
DETERMINATION THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE
ELEMENTS OF OPENINGS
THE AIM
Determination of the characteristics of openings
concerning sky diffuse light.
GENERAL INFORMATIONS
Model investigation in artificial sky were
carried out to clear - the transmission factor
for diffuse skylight by different luminance
distribution, - well-effect of opening by
different skylight distribution and slope

METHOD FOR DIMENSIONING WINDOWS
THE AIM
Develop a method for dimensioning windows, which
takes account every effects by the same weight
and explicit.
GENERAL INFORMATIONS
Several thousand model investigations were
carried out in artificial sky. The measured
values gave the bases of the new method.
RESULT
A very new explicit method, which is able to
determine the required area of windows if the
required daylight factor and architectural
characteristics of the room are known.
17
RESEARCH on
DAYLIGHTING
INVESTIGATION OF TOPLIGHTING BY A NEW CONCEPTION

See later the presentation of Mr. Filetóth.
18
RESEARCH on
COMPLEX INVESTIGATIONS
THE ENERGY CONSUPTION OF HEATING AND ARTIFICIAL
LIGHTING AS A FUNCTION OF THE RELATIVE LARGENESS
OF WINDOW
THE AIM
Answer the question How the relative area of
window effects on the energy consumption of
heating and artificial lighting.
GENERAL INFORMATIONS
16 characteristics of room, window, heating,
artificial lighting and working hours were taken
account during the investigation. The daylight
distribution in the room were measured in
artificial sky.
