IC structure in HA

• Central Committee on Infectious Diseases (CCID)
  of the Hospital Authority (HA)
• Runs 7 operational panels to support infectious
  disease control strategies in public hospitals
• Hospital Level
• Hospital Infection Control Teams are responsible
  for maintaining standards in the public
  hospitals, under the guidance of ICB in
  consultation with the CCID
• Infection Control Nurses, Link Nurses and
  designated Microbiologists are the major staff
  force of the system

• Priority 1 Enhance surveillance on healthcare
  associated infections (HAI)
• Improve surveillance systems and research
  programmes via new surveillance platforms
• Review streamline existing surveillance program
  to extend coverage and improve quality of data
• Establish standard definitions and means of
  calculating infection rates to facilitate
  benchmarking in surgical site infections
• Set up territory-wide antibiotics resistance
  surveillance system
• Conduct workshop on antibiotic sensitivity
  testing
