Title: How to save money, improve parts cleanliness, minimize effluents, reduce haulaway, cut utility bills

1

Arbortech Washer Washer Systems a simple
approach to the recycling of aqueous cleaners
  • How to save money, improve parts cleanliness,
minimize effluents, reduce haul-away, cut utility
bills and lower chemical usage by extending the
life of your/your clients water-based cleaning
    solutions

Common Membrane Materials of Construction
  • Polymeric
  • pH sensitive, typical range 3.5-10.5
  • Temperature sensitive, typical limit 130-140
    degrees F
  • Requires comparatively frequent service or
    replacement
  • Membrane can be punctured housing, typically
plastic, can crack if struck or dropped
  • No back-pulsing or deadheading if supported
membrane skin may separate from substrate
  • Ceramic
  • pH 0-14, resists acidic and alkaline conditions
  • Wide temperature range
  • Fragile, easily cracks, could shatter if dropped
    careful servicing and handling required
  • Capable of being back-pulsed or deadheaded
  • Arbortechs TiO2/Stainless Steel Membrane
  • pH 0-14, thrives under both highly acidic and
    extremely caustic conditions

8
TiO2/SS Membrane Construction
Sintered TiO2 Membrane (20,000X)
  • Stainless Steel Substrate (500X)

Installation Needs
  • WW ships fully assembled, except for membrane(s)
  • Plumb gravity feed line (or siphon) from wash
tank to WW pre-filter or WWLG process tank
  • Run electrical for circulation pump (and any
    options)
  • Some series simple as plug into 20-amp
  • 1/60/110 outlet(s) - larger WWs are 3 phase
  • Plumb from permeate fitting on membrane
housing(s) back to washer, or place membrane(s)
    in washer
  • Not much more to do, but full details in manual
with lots of pictures - simple to follow and
    understand
  • Its that easy --- recycling in a matter of
    minutes

Minimal Maintenance
  • Empty process tank of concentrated residual
  • Change or clean pre-filter as needed
  • Periodically restore membrane performance
  • Frequency dependent on oil/soil loading other
    factors
  • More often if start-up is on a dirty bath, but if
    sized correctly eventual equilibrium
  • Arbortech offers contract cleaning service
  • Except with WWPro Series, a spare membrane is
included for each one in use exchanged into
service while the other is being rejuvenated,
which means almost no down time and virtually
    continuous recycling

32
What to Expect / Why Recycle?
  • Simple operation
  • Extended cleaning bath life, often 4-6X or more
  • Cleaner parts and improved subsequent steps
    like painting, powder-coating, plating, etc.
  • Substantial reduction in cleaning chemistry
    purchases
  • Less rinse water usage
  • Waste concentrated, therefore disposal costs drop
    ISO 14001
  • Reduced dump/recharge labor costs
  • Smaller utility bills
  • Short payback time
  • Excellent ROI
