MOVES YOUR RECREATIONAL VEHICLES SAFELY
  • Anyone who has ever owned or operated a caravan,
boat trailer or any other large sized trailer
quickly learns that the quickest way to a
strained back, hernia or some more serious
personal injury is to try to manoeuvre it about
by lifting and pushing, or pulling at the draw
    bar.
  • To be towed successfully a trailer must be heavy
at the draw-bar end and this weight plus the
inertia of a big, bulky object makes trailer
moving strictly as job for motor vehicles, not
    human beings.
  • But there are always times when a caravan,
trailer, boat or horse float must be pushed about
    by hand.
  • The Maco Mule gives one person total control over
direction and movement of big trailed vehicles,
with no more effort than it takes to move a lever
up and down in a pumping motion.

BRAKING FOR SAFETY
  • The Mules mechanical system includes some
excellent safety features. When the ratchet
lever is at either the top or bottom of its
stroke, a brake is automatically applied to the
wheel, so that it cannot roll back on to the
operator if it is being cranked up or down hill.
Should the operator slip and fall, losing their
grip on the handle, it will simply drop to its
lowest position automatically applying the brake
or fly to the top position again applying the
    brake.
  • HOW IT WORKS The ratchet arm in this sketch is
shown being lifted, to push the wheel away from
the operator. The star at the top is lifted clear
of one socket and into the next. It holds there
while the lever is moved downwards again and the
star on the lever tales up a new position for its
next thrust. Levers A and B change the positions
of the brakes to apply forward or reverse
    movement.
  • When parked, the actuating levers can be thrown
so that they are opposing each other and the
    wheel is made immovable.

WHICH ONE IS FOR YOU?
  • There are two models of the Maco Mule. The
single wheel model suits most light to medium
weight vehicles, and the dual wheel type is used
where extra traction is necessary to move an
extra heavy weight. The twin wheels naturally
have twice the amount of traction as the single
    wheel.
  • The dual wheel version has an inbuilt
differential action to aid turning of the
    traction wheel.
  • Maximum safe working load of 10kN (2234 lbs),
draw bar weight for both the dual and single
    wheels.
  • MOUNTING THE TRACTION WHEEL
  • For maximum convenience the single wheel should
be mounted on the right hand side of the A-frame,
when facing the trailer. The dual wheel can be
mounted on either side of the A-frame. If the
clamp is mounted on the inside of the A-frame or
the height of the traction wheel will not allow
the hitch to be lowered on to the ball of the
towing vehicle this can be overcome by using an
    outrigger clamp.
