The world is rapidly changing into a global
village. We need to prepare to meet the
challenges with world-class products and
technologies.
There is deferent kind of security products and
technologies. But we need to choose right and
effective product.

  • What is CCTV?
  • CCTV (Closed Circuit Television) is the
monitoring and recording of people, processes or
property through the use of a camera and other
related electronic security systems. This form of
visual security can be sub-divided into analogue
    and IP (Internet Protocol) solutions.
  • What are the Benefits of CCTV?
  • Cut down on losses due to theft
  • Increase employee productivity
  • Increase customer and employee safety
  • Provide 24/7 access to your system
  • Reduce the need for manual security (security
    guards)

6
Type of CCTV

  • CCTV cameras are available in monochrome (black
and white) or color. The different types of
    cameras are
  • Board CCTV cameras,
  • Bullet CCTV cameras,
  • Fixed Dome cameras or

Stands for "Digital Video Recorder." A DVR is
basically a VCR that uses a hard drive instead of
video tapes. It can be used to record, save, and
play back television programs. Unlike a VCR,
however, a DVR can also pause live TV by
recording the current show in real time. The
user can choose to fast forward (often during
commercials) to return to live television.
  1. Stand Alone Digital Video Recorder. It has 4
    Channel, 8 Channel, 6 Channel, 24 Channel and 32
    Channel Digital Video Recorders.
  1. PC Based DVR it has 4 Channel, 8 Channel, 16
Channel, 32 Channel windows based Digital Video
    Recorders.

IP Based CCTV Technology
19
What is IP-CCTV? IP CCTV (Internet Protocol
Closed Circuit Television), is a security
surveillance system of IP Cameras and video
servers which connects seamlessly with the
Internet and Internet related digital services,
including Wi-Fi, Wi-Max, 3G or GPRS Access
connection. What is IP-CCTV Cameras? IP CCTV
cameras are similar to analogue CCTV cameras in
features and functions but offer far superior
picture quality.
They do not transmit their images and sounds as
analogue signals but as data.
20
IP CCTV cameras incorporate built in web servers
which allow for live monitoring, recording and
configuration across a computer network or the
internet.
They also offer remote configuration of their
settings, and on some models even the image
sensor of the camera can be configured as
required.
What is IP CCTV Equipment? IP-based network
video solutions include equipment such as network
cameras (IP cameras), network video recorders
(NVR's), video encoders/decoders and relevant
alarm and monitoring software.

VIVOTEK ST7501 is the next-generation in
recording software, featuring reliable recording,
easy system management, and flexible scalability
for diverse IP surveillance applications. ST7501
has three major components, including ST7501
Server for recording, ST7501 Live Client for
viewing live media data and system management,
and ST7501 Playback for browsing databases and
retrieving recorded media data. You can install
and run the three components on a single computer.

Not to be confused with power line
communication or Point-to-Point Protocol over
Ethernet.
Power over Ethernet or PoE technology describes a
system to pass electrical power safely, along
with data, on Ethernet cabling. The IEEE
standard for PoE requires category 5 cable or
higher for high power levels, but can operate
with category 3 cable if less power is required
Power Over Ethernet is a revolutionary technology
that integrates data and power on standard
Ethernet infrastructure providing new options for
power distribution. This allows IP telephones,
wireless LAN access points, surveillance cameras
and other embedded appliances to receive power as
well as data over existing CAT5 cabling.
Formally approved as an international standard,
Power over Ethernet is established as an
economical, safe power distribution method and is
already deployed in corporations throughout the
world.

Analog Vs. IP
32
There is difference between mega-pixel and ip
cameras IP cameras are generally the same
resolution as an analog camera with a built-in
video encoder to convert the analog signal into
an IP address.
Hybrid CCTV Solutions, a mixture of analog and
IP/mega-pixel cameras have been becoming more
popular since existing CCTV infrastructures could
be tied in using one NVR/Software interface.
High-definition (HD) or Mega-pixel (MP) IP
cameras are now available that offer a huge jump
in image quality compared to conventional
surveillance cameras.
33
Resolutions are available as 1.3,2,3,5,8 and up
to 16 mega pixels (16 Mega pixels, 4872x3248
pixels, in resolution contains over 50 times more
detail than images captured with conventional
surveillance systems).
The images below illustrate how HD surveillance
systems can capture full situation awareness as
well as fine detail. HD CCTV Cameras are also
available in 1.3,2,3,5, or 8 Mega pixels.

35
A high-end 540TVL (720X540 0.389 mega pixels
A standard IP camera or analog cameras are
640X480 0.307 mega pixels) camera would only be
able to view this image and would then need to be
zoomed in telescopically via PTZ to view the
detail loosing the rest of the picture that is
out of view
With Mega-pixel cameras, forensic zooming can be
capable while its simultaneously recording onto
the NVR (network video recorder) server as the
whole picture and vice versa by watching recorded
video while forensic zooming on the desired view.

38
Missing Object Detection Providing an
audible/visual alert when predefined objects are
removed from the camera view.
Suspicious Object Detection Providing an
audible/visual alert when suspicious objects of a
certain size and shape are left unattended in the
camera view.
Face Detection Automatic face snapshot index
created for simple playback and review.
Perimeter Detection Perimeter systems typically
consist of magnetic contacts that detect the
opening of doors, trespass and windows.
