RUBY BRIDGES was born on September 8,1954 in
Tylertown, Mississippi in a log cabin. She has
one sister and one brother.

EARLY LIFE Ruby Bridges father worked by picking
crops. He lost his job . When Ruby was 4, she
moved to NEW ORLEANS.

GOING TO SCHOOL When Ruby was 6 she went to a New
Orleans white school. When she went to school
people would threatened her. They would do stuff
to her. They would say mean things to her.

EDUCATION She graduated elementary school , high
school, and college.

Overcoming Troubles Ruby had overcome that blacks
and whites could not go to school together. She
solved that problem by going to school everyday
and not caring what people said or did to her or
threatened her. Ruby Bridges is an excellent
person to follow.

WHERE SHE IS NOW Ruby is 55 years old. She is
very famous for going to a white school in New
Orleans. She still fights for a good education
for ALL children.
