• Sex education is about the human reproductive
  system, anatomy, and all other aspects that deal
  with human sexual behavior.

Importance of Sex Education

• Gives accurate and un-bias information on sex,
  and sex related topics.
• 46 of Teens have had sex before.
• 48 of STDs are among 15-24 year olds
• 750,000 women become pregnant every year between
  15-19 year olds.
• 78 of pregnancies are not planned (age 15-19)

Where are the Parents?

• All parents dont talk to their children about
  sex.
• 45 of males have not been talked to about
  AIDS/HIV.
• 66 of females have not been talked to about the
  different types of birth control or where to find
  it.
• 40 of males have not been talked to about the
  basic facts of reproducing.

Abstinence vs. Traditional

• 2 types of Sex Education Curriculum
• Abstinence only- Excludes information on sexual
  anatomy, contraceptives information on testing
  and treatment for STIs, teaches abstinence is the
  only way.
• Traditional is more comprehensive and covers all
  the bases of sexual information.

Some Abstinence only curriculums give mis-leading
information
