Title: Crocs Cradle To Grave

1
Crocs(Cradle To Grave)
  • By Alyssa VanderMolen
  • PHI104

2
What Are they?
  • Strangle looking shoes with holes in them.
  • Made in various different shapes and sizes!

3
Origin
  • Origonally, Crocs were intended as a boating/
outdoor shoe, because of their slip resistant,
non-marking sole (The Best Way to know where
were going is to see where weve been).

4
They are not made of Rubber!
  • They might look rubbery, but they are not made of
    rubber!
  • Crocs are made of crostile material, which is a
proprietary closed-cell resin that expands and
contracts to the wearers foot (Crocs Launches
    Soles United Campaign).

6
Lifespan
  • 90 day warranty
  • Amount of time they will exist in their intended
form is dependent upon how often they are worn

7
Crocs can be recycled!
  • There is a Soles United program that can re-use
and recycle your crocs for you, and all you have
to do is find a drop box for them!
  • - Once worn-out crocs footwear are received,
they are sorted, ground up and made into new
Soles United recycled shoes (How it Works).

8
The Afterlife of Un-recycled Crocs
  • If Crocs are thrown away, instead of being
recycled, then they will be sent to a landfill
with everything else in your garbage can.
  • There are mixed ideas about what will happen to
the Crocs while they are sitting in a landfill,
and about how long they will exist in their
    intended form in the landfill.
  • Some people say that these shoes will quickly
decompose, while others say that they will just
sit in a landfill and take up space for millions
    of years.
